Classical Guitar

GUITARS

Ideally, I would like all my students to have a good quality guitar that will produce a beautiful tone.
I order guitars from a distributor in California named Ruben Flores. He sells guitars from Spain and from China with solid cedar tops in all sizes. I can give you more information on ordering a guitar when I meet you. His prices are lower than you would pay online or in a music store for a solid top guitar.
If you would like to shop for a guitar yourself, I ask you to spend at least $100. Less expensive guitars are available, but they are hard to learn to play. Reliable name brands of guitars for children are Strunal, Yamaha, Jasmine, and Cordoba. Name brands for full size guitars are too numerous to list here, but it is best to get a guitar with a solid top. Women and teens should consider a 7/8 or "senorita" size guitar as many women classical guitarists today now prefer a smaller size guitar.
If you are purchasing a guitar, I recommend you get a classical guitar with nylon strings. Suzuki students must have a classical guitar.
