Classical Guitar

GUITARS

Ideally, I would like all my students to have a good quality guitar that will produce beautiful tone.  A guitar with a solid top produces better tone than one with a laminated top.

You should expect to spend $100 or more on a guitar. Less expensive guitars are available, but the quality is not always consistent.

Some reliable name brands of guitars are Cordoba, Strunal, Yamaha, Alvarez, Takamine, and Jasmine.

If you are purchasing a guitar, get a classical guitar with nylon strings.  It is important to have the correct size classical guitar.  If you are considering guitar lessons for your child, please meet with me before purchasing a guitar to see what size would be best for your child- 1/4, 1/2, or 3/4.  Many adults also prefer a 3/4 or 7/8 size guitar.
